Brooklyn Heights Honors Olympian Kelli Stack

4/20/2014

Rain and winds didn't stop Mayor Mike, friends and fans in Brooklyn Heights from honoring one of their own, U.S. women's Olympic hockey player Kelli Stack.

Stack, a native of Brooklyn Heights who attended Cuyahoga Heights High School, was honored by Mayor Mike Procuk when he unveiled a sign honoring the two-time Olympic silver medalist.

The sign will be attached to the entrances of eight different streets in the village. Kelli, who is back home this week visiting her family was overwhelmed by the sentiment shown to her by her hometown.

"I want to thank Mayor Mike and all my friends and family for the support they have shown to me and to have a sign in my name is something I never dreamed could be possible."
