NOTICE OF EXAMINATION for Police Officer 

Qualifications 

Minimum 21 years of age, maximum 35 years of age. Five year extension (40 years of age) granted for applicants who have service credit verified in one of the three qualified Ohio law enforcement pension systems (OP&F, PERS-LE, and/or HPRS). High school graduate. Hold an associate degree or equivalent (60 semester credits or 96 quarter credits) from an accredited college or university.  Applicants must be a natural born or naturalized citizen of the United States. 

 Application Available

Beginning March 1, 2019 applications will be available from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Village of Brooklyn Heights Municipal Center, 345 Tuxedo Avenue, Brooklyn Heights, Ohio.  All information is included in the application package.

Filing Fee and Return

At the time of application a fee of $25.00 shall be paid to the Village of Brooklyn Heights.  An additional fee must be paid to the agility test company.

Application must be returned fully completed to the Village of Brooklyn Heights Municipal Center, 345 Tuxedo Avenue, Brooklyn Heights, Ohio by March 27, 2019 at 4:00 p.m.

Documents Required

In addition to the filing fee, each application should include a 2x2 photograph of oneself for identification purposes to enter the testing site, a copy of birth certificate, valid Ohio driver’s license, official proof of associate degree or equivalent. For bonus credit: notarized affidavit of Brooklyn Heights residency if applicable, OPOTA certification or Letter of Completion, official proof of bachelor degree if applicable, a copy of form DD214 if applicable.

Present Salary $58,884 plus benefits in year one.  $75,358 after four years.

Written Exam will take place on Monday, April 1, 2019 at 9:00 a.m. at the Brooklyn Heights Community Center, 225 Tuxedo Avenue, Brooklyn Heights, Ohio 44131

Physical Agility at Cuyahoga Community College (West).  Valid certificate from Tri-C agility test within one year prior to testing date accepted.  Otherwise, must take Tri-C agility test by April 14, 2019 testing date.
