New Program Info from Police Chief Algeri
4/6/2017
The Cuyahoga County Prosecutor’s Office has started a new program to aid law enforcement. It is a voluntary secure database that maps the location of public and private security cameras throughout Cuyahoga County. Here is how it works. Any camera registered with the County Prosecutor’s Office is entered into the secure database. If a crime is committed any place in the county, law enforcement can access the database from any computer or smart phone and see where all registered cameras are located in the area. One click on the map will bring up contact information for the person who can access the camera footage. They are NOT accessing your camera, just getting contact information on who to call to view the video. Thousands of cameras around Cuyahoga County are already registered. See the attached information from the Prosecutor’s Office on how to register your cameras. If you have any questions, call the Cuyahoga County Prosecutor’s Office or Chief Dan Algeri.
