New Rain Gardens and Bioretention Cells in Brooklyn Heights

8/29/2014
The Village of Brooklyn Heights has installed two rain gardens and two bioretention cells in the Brooklyn Heights Village Park.

Storm water runoff collects pollutants which are accumulated on surfaces such as parking lots, roads, and roofs. The polluted runoff flows into natural waterways, harming the ecosystems of streams and lakes in our communities. By decreasing the runoff that flows directly into these natural systems, we can improve the quality of streams and lakes and our drinking water sources.
