Update on Rosby Resource Recycling, Inc.

7/21/2017
Important Update from Mayor Mike on Rosby Resource Recycling, Inc.

Mr. Rosby, the owner of the business located at 4963 Schaaf Lane is under a Consent Decree from Attorney General Mike DeWine to meet certain deadlines.
He is currently opening new cells to fill and has to move his sorting equipment by July 31st. He must also complete relocating his piles of materials into the new cells by December 31, 2017.

Due to this we are experiencing a very high volume of trucks as Mr. Rosby is working to meet his
deadlines. These trucks are kicking up dust and we have no idea of what might be in that dust that is getting into our homes and worse yet, our lungs. I have had the Cuyahoga County Board of Health and the Ohio EPA onsite to monitor the situation.

Mr. Rosby MUST adhere to our local ordinances regarding hours of operation and MUST keep our roads clean. We are enforcing both of these ordinances and the Police have shut him down twice for operating after 7:00 p.m.

Please call BHPD 216-741-2700 if you witness loads dropping from trucks, property damage from tires turning too wide onto your property or if you witness operations before 7:00 a.m. or after 7:00 p.m.

In addition, if the dust is a nuisance to you and your property, please feel free to make phone calls to the following agencies to document your complaints. It is important to note that these calls assist us in documenting complaints and violations.

Air Quality  216-664-7442            EPA Hotline   330-963-1212
Ohio EPA (for spills)  800-282-9378   Soil and Water  216-524-6580
Health Department (daytime)  216-201-2001   County Sanitary (daytime)  216-443-8201
Health Dept. Hotline
(after hours)
216-857-1433   County Sanitary (after hours)  800-683-2689

While the State of Ohio issues these permits and allows Rosby to expand on property he owns contiguously, we do not have to put up with dust or noise outside of our ordinances.
Please take the time to contact these agencies when a complaint should be recorded.

Thank you for working together with me on this situation.

Mayor Mike
