West Creek Conservancy invites you to its free ongoing series of guided hikes to learn more about its conservation work in Brooklyn Heights and surrounding communities and the progress being made to develop the 25-mile West Creek Greenway.  For a complete list of events and to learn more about West Creek Conservancy, visit westcreek.org or call 216-749-3720.   

August 2018 events include:   Sat., Aug 11th, 10 am – noon.  “Walk & Talk about the Former Parmadale Campus.”  Enjoy an easy scenic 2.5-mile walk through West Creek Reservation towards the former Parmadale campus.  We’ll learn of the exciting plans for this new acquisition and how it figures into the West Creek Greenway.  Meet at Monarch Bluff Picnic Area in West Creek Reservation, Parma.  

Tues., Aug 14th, 7 pm – 9 pm.  Public Meeting:  “The Towers of West Creek.”  The many radio and TV transmission towers in the Parma-Seven Hills area collectively known as the Parma Antenna Farm have – and continue to - greatly impacted local land conservation efforts.  Longtime broadcasting professional Ted Alexander and Engineer Al Warmus share their tales of these towers and the how-&-why they were built here.  Meet at the West Creek Stewardship Center at West Creek Reservation, Parma.  

Thurs., Aug 23rd, 5:30 pm – 7 pm.  “Discovery Walk in Kerruish Park.”  At nearly 80 acres, Kerruish Park is one of the largest forested Cleveland parks. We’ll take a casual 1.5-mile walk to view Mill Creek and a future NEORSD stream restoration site.  Terrain is moderate.  Meet in the park at 17218 Tarkington Ave, Cleveland.

Sat., Aug 25th, 5:30 pm – 10 pm.  “Up! A Creek.”  Enjoy this annual gala of West Creek Conservancy at Windows on the River in Cleveland’s Flats.  A night of great food, music, dance, and cheer – not to mention fabulous auctions!  It all helps to support the Conservancy’s land protection work throughout our region.  Advance tickets required.
