FIREWORKS ORDINANCE UPDATED 2023

6/8/2023

HB172 grants municipalities the option of banning fireworks altogether within their borders, designating when it’s permissible to shoot off fireworks or adopting their own rules. Municipalities across the state of Ohio have the opportunity to make amateur fireworks displays legal around certain holidays starting June 19. Many municipalities across the state have opted out of these new laws for their community’s safety. Brooklyn Heights’ officials have passed an ordinance to opt out of the laws legalizing fireworks after consulting with the Chiefs of the Fire and Police Departments. It is illegal to set off amateur fireworks at any time within the Brooklyn Heights borders. View the ordinance.
