Social Worker

Kathleen Kapusta, LISW

Kathleen Kapusta is a Licensed Independent Social Worker, with a specialty in geriatric case management.

She holds a Bachelor's Degree from John Carroll University and a Master's Degree from Case Western Reserve University.
With a background in both medical and psychiatric social work, she has been a consultant in nursing homes, home health care and hospice. For 12 years she was Director of Social Service at Parma Hospital.

For almost 30 years, she has operated a private counseling practice, Associates in Lifestyle Management, with a focus on serving seniors. In addition to teaching at Cuyahoga Community College, she has presented at workshops and community forums.
She has served on both the Independence Board of Education for 11 years, 6 years as Board President and as an Independence City Councilwoman for 8 years. After 14 years, she retired as Coordinator of Senior Services for the City of Independence.

Kathleen resides in Independence with her husband John. Mark, her son, passed away in 2003. Her son, Scott, who works for Fifth Third Bank, and his wife Jessica, are very active in their German Village community. Rebecca, her daughter, and her partner, Steven, also reside in Columbus, where Becca works for OSU and is completing her doctorate.
