Fundraiser to Benefit Ailing Brooklyn Heights Native

Bethany Cocco CHS Class of 1997, who was raised in Brooklyn Heights, has been diagnosed with Stage IV Lung Cancer. She was not a smoker. She received chemotherapy at University Hospital’s Seidman Cancer Center. 
Unfortunately, after early successes and 6 treatments, Bethany learned that further treatment options in the United States are limited. At this time, her best course of action is traveling to the Institute for Integrative Oncology in Vienna, Austria. Bethany is receiving an integrative oncology/holistic treatment regimen for the next six weeks with renowned Austrian oncologist Dr. Ralf Kleef. The highly specialized program includes radiation, chemotherapy, and whole body hyperthermia treatment. For over 10 years, his proactive approach has shown encouraging success with late stage cancer patients. Bethany’s treatment is not experimental. We are so proud of Bethany for the courage she has shown in her fight against this disease and have encouraged her throughout her journey to Europe.
