Forest Immersion XP A Free Career Exploratory Weekend

Day One: 
Learn why trees are important as you get to know other students with similar interests. A breakfast and morning session will be followed by a hike from Red Oak Camp to the Holden Arboretum to explore the Murch Canopy Walk and the 120-foot-tall Kalberer Emergent Tower! Discover a new perspective on trees at and above canopy level on these structures. After dinner try out some basic climbing skills and other camp activities. End the day with a movie, Trees in Trouble, before retiring to your heated cabin. 

Day Two:
Spend an active day learning what it takes to be a professional in the fields of arboriculture and community forestry. Interact with grounds workers, climbers, plant health care professionals and urban foresters. Test your climbing skills in trees, and participate in tree care and diagnostic activities. Take home information will be provided to help you explore educational pathways and other career options in these fields.
